KOTTAYAM: The special court here hearing the sensational Vithura sex scandal case has dismissed the plea of  K C Peter, eighth accused in the case and a staunch Kerala Congress (M) loyalist and former additional public prosecutor in the High Court, to exclude him from the list of accused.

Special court judge Ameer Ali has ordered Peter to be present in the court at 3 p.m. on February 19 to hear the chargesheet against him.

The court has also posted the examination of the victim to March 17.

K C Peter was in the news recently, linked to the revelations of  P K Kunhalikkutty’s co-brother Rauf in the ice cream parlour case as well his comments in a local channel.

The chargesheet against Jessy, Joy, Tony Antony, Bonny Joseph and C K Sekhar, the third, sixth, seventh, ninth and tenth accused respectively in the case was read out in the court on Wednesday.

All have denied the charges including rape, gang rape, and conspiracy.

The case relates to the sexual torture of a girl from Vithura in a hotel in Ernakulam on November 14, 1995.

Actor Jagathy Sreekumar was one of the accused in a related case but was acquitted after a long trial.

Altogether, there were eight cases on the sexual abuse of the then minor girl.

Three among them had come up for consideration of the special court here, including the one in which Jagathy Sreekumar was exonerated. Rajagopal Padipurakkal argued for the prosecution.
