KOZHIKODE: Kozhikode has secured a clear lead on the fourth day of the 51st State School Youth Festival.

The results of 179 items were declared till Friday evening. Kozhikode has a clear lead with 649 points, whereas Thrissur could muster only 624 points. The contests are progressing.

The race for the third slot has intensified, with Palakkad and Kannur equalling the tally with 611 points each. Ernakulam and hosts Kottayam have secured 589 and 581 points, respectively.

Cheers for some, tears for others

The final decision of the state appeal committee after a screening, brought a seachange in the final results of many events, mostly stage items, eventually cheering a few and giving tears for the many who were provisionally declared winners earlier. Over a dozen events have new winners. Changes in results occurred in the following events (the name of two toppers in brackets):
