THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Crime Branch investigation team on Wednesday questioned the staff who were present on duty in the Mangalore Express in which O K Indu, the research scholar whose body was found in the Periyar, had travelled.

Crime Branch officials also questioned some of the passengers who were travelling in the AC coach of the train in which Indu was travelling before she went missing.

A senior officer of the Crime Branch said that the team had recorded the statements of Abhishek, who was engaged to Indu but refrained from revealing any information.

The other day, CB officials had questioned Krishnan Nair and Omana Kunjamma, the parents of Indu.

They strongly stood by their stand that Indu would not commit suicide and that she was murdered.  Meanhile, DGP Jacob Punnose convened a meeting of the SIT and reviewed the progress of the case.

He also gave instructions on further steps to be taken in the probe.
