KOCHI: Sasi was quite sure that Hibi would romp home winner in this Assembly elections. Sasi is Hibi’s close companian who has spent most of his life with the Eden family and was also close to the late George Eden.
In a chat with City Express, Sasi said he was overjoyed with Hibi’s win.
“I had no doubt about his victory. He was also confident,” Sasi said. The response of the people while campaigning was quite overwhelming. Hibi got many gifts from his fans,enough proof that he was their favourite. “Hibi was dejected when he failed to make it to the list of candidates in the Lok Sabha elections. But, this time, he had decided against going to Delhi. He was sure that nobody could sabotage his candidature as Rahul Gandhi had ensured his candidature in the Ernakulam constituency.”
As a person, who stood by the son and father through thick and thin, Sasi says that he could not distinguish any difference in their way of working.
But Hibi got more response during the campaign than his father, definitely a positive sign,” he said. “Though we won, our Bellamma (Bella Varghese, Hibi’s aunt) is not there to share our joy, as she passed away a few months ago,” Sasi said.
