Noble gesture by ‘Flaming Arrows'

In a noble gesture, ‘Flaming Arrows’, the Seaking Squadron at INS Garuda, on Sunday hosted 20 children and staff members of Evangel Ashram, Koonammavu, on the squadron premises.

The families of the premier Air Squadron joined them along with Commander Rewant Kumar, Commanding Officer of the Squadron.

Captain Himanshu Sapre who heads the Naval Air Station, Garuda was also present on the occassion.

The children and staff members were taken around the Air Traffic Control Room of INS Garuda as well as Seaking helicopter.

Later, packets of clothes, books, stationery, toys and food rations were handed over to the Ashram residents.

“The experience was as gratifying as flying a mission sortie,” said Commander Rewant Kumar.

The Evangel Ashram, K o o n a m m a v u provides shelter and care to about 150 homeless children.
