25 new Ayurveda hospitals to be opened

Health Minister V S Sivakumar has said that the  government will start 25 new Ayurveda hospitals across the state.

He was speaking after inaugurating the annual area meeting of the Ayurveda Medical Association of India (AMAI) here the other day.

“Sports medicine facility in Ayurveda will be started in Thrissur district and a Panchakarma hospital will be started in Alappuzha later.

The state government has already allotted `75 lakh for basic health facilities in schools,” the minister said.

He said that the government has allotted `35 lakh for the construction of the new building of the Ayurveda Hospital at Chengannur.

The construction of the new building will help the Sabarimala pilgrims who arrive at Chengannur, Sivakumar said.

Ayurveda Medical Association of India area president Dr P Aswini Kumar presided over the function. P C Vishnunath MLA, AMAI state secretary A P Sreekumar, district president Dr Sajeev and secretary Dr R Krishnakumar spoke.
