Bombs unearthed at Thillankeri

Four steel bombs and a sword were found buried on the Anakuzhi Paniya Crematorium premises at Thillankeri near Iritty on Monday.

The Kannur bomb squad led by SI A Ramachandran and Iritty SI K J Binoy conducted a raid at the crematorium in the morning following a tip-off, and unearthed four steel bombs in a plastic bag.  The  bomb squad defused the bombs.

A small steel bomb explosion had been occured recently at Thillankeri, which was informed to the police by the local people.

The Iritty police have registered a case under the Explosives Act and the Arms Act.
