Crucial UDF meet on Wednesday

A crucial meeting of the High Power Committee of the UDF will be held at Cliff House, the official residence of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy , on October 17 from 3 p.m.

On top of the agenda of the meet will be the deliberations and a decision on issues related to LPG supplies, sand mining, fair value of land and salary fixation of grama panchayat presidents who are also serving as teachers.

Apart from these, the meeting will also consider amendments proposed to the Paddyfield and Wetland Conservation Act, election of nominees to the Travancore Devaswom Board and the scope of providing relief in interest payment for education loans availed of by APL category loanees also, according to UDF convenor P P Thankachan. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will preside over the meet.
