Former Express staffer passes away

Rajappan Nair, 62, former staffer of ‘The New Indian Express’, passed away in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.

He breathed his last at a hospital following a liver-related disease. Rajappan Nair joined Express as junior clerk in 1984.  

He was promoted to senior time-keeper in 1995, and later chief time-keeper in 2004.

He retired from service in 2008,  and was living at Nedumangad, his ancestral place. 

He is survived by wife Sindhu Rajappan and son Rahul (South Indian Bank, Vaduthala). 

The cremation was held at Nedumangad on Wednesday.
