Thousands initiated into the world of letters

Thousands  of children attended the ‘vidyarambham’ ceremony, which marks the beginning of learning, with their children, at the Dakshina Mookambika Temple on Tuesday.

The line to enter the temple was seen at 5.30 am.

Head priest Viswanathan inaugurated the function which was presided over by Puliyannur Mana Vasudevan Nampoothiri.

Hundreds of children were inatiated into the world of letter at  Chottanikkara Temple  also on Vijaya Dasami day.

As many as 12 Brahmin priests made the children write letters in rice-filled brass platters.

Children were also provided ‘Panchamrutham’ and free books. Special rituals, including the ‘Saraswati Pooja’, were held at the temple.

A heavy rush was witnessed at the temple on ‘Vidyarambham’ day.

Several children marked their debut on stage in ‘Ottanthullal’, ‘Chendamelam’ and ‘Akharasloka’ in the evening.
