The friends and relatives of Sreesanth were all praise for his wife Bhuvneshwari Kumari Shekhawat aka Nain and her family for extending full-throated support to the cricketer and his family, when Sree was arrested for alleged involvement in spot-fixing and lodged in jail for 27 days.
“At a time when Sreesanth was going through the hardest of times, there was tremendous pressure on Nain and her family to snap ties with him.
“But, Nain and her family stood firmly behind the cricketer while everyone, including his fans, media and the BCCI, turned against him. Her family even came forward to provide legal support to him,” Baburaj Guruvayur, a family friend of Sreesanth, said.
He further said that almost all of his teammates in the Indian cricket team have been keeping a distance from Sree after his arrest.
“All his teammates have been invited to the wedding reception in Kochi. But we are not sure how many of them will turn up for the function,” he said.
