A Firoz, Director of the State  Public Relations Department, has been placed under suspension in the wake of the finding that he was a co-accused in one of the cheating cases involving Saritha S Nair and Biju Radhakrishnan, which was reported by Express.

State Public Relations Secretary Rani George filed a report on Wednesday, after the intervention of PRD Minister K C Joseph, on the role of Firoz paving the way for his suspension. 

The government has also decided to probe suppression of a file with police report against Firoz.

Firoz is the third accsued in the cheating case after Saritha and Biju in a complaint filed by one Salim in 2009.  The case is in connection with swindling Rs 40.2 lakh by the trio from the complainant was registered at the Medical College police station here and has been listed still as Under Investigation (UI).

Meanwhile, Firoz has moved an anticipatory bail in a court here, which will be considered on Thursday. Earlier, Firoz maintained his stand that he was ‘trapped’.

He had even moved a case against the Saritha-Biju duo for cheating him of Rs 3 lakh, with the promise of installing a windmill for him at Ponmudi.
