The Federal Bank has become the official ‘title sponsor’ of the Grand Kerala Shopping Festival (GKSF) this year with the Bank signing an MoU with the Tourism Department.
Tourism director S Harikishore and Federal Bank zonal manager C P Sasidharan signed the MoU in this regard in the presence of Tourism Minister A P Anil Kumar.
Ahead of the signing of the MoU, Anil Kumar said that campaign for the GKSF will begin on November 15, ahead of the shopping festival season. ‘’We want the festival to have the widest reach and it is with this objective that we have decided to start the campaign earlier,’’ he said.
He also said that the festival had the support of the entire trading community. ‘’We hope that about one lakh trading centres will be part of the festival,’’ Anil Kumar said. Sasidharan said that the GKSF would help a great deal in promoting tourism and business. The festival from December 1 to January 15 has undergone massive changes. The festival also has the active participation of Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi (KVVES) this time.
The first prize winner will get Rs 1 crore besides gold. The second prize of Rs 10 lakh each will be given to 15 persons. The third prize comprises of Rs 5 lakh each to 20 winners and fourth prize of Rs 1 lakh to 50 persons.
