The power supply from Moolamattom power house was stopped after a minor power measuring equipment caught fire on Thursday evening.

However, four of the five generators which were shut down after the mishap were made operational late in the night.

The incident happened after the potential transformer used for measuring power in the 220 KV power line got burnt. As a result, the power supply to the entire state was affected, Ouseph Joseph, Chief Engineer (generations) told Express. The potential transformer used for measuring the voltage on the line supplying power to Thrissur caught fire tripping the power supply to the entire state.ENS
