Fish merchant robbed

A fish merchant was robbed of `31,000 by a four-member team at Marampally near Thaikkavu temple here in the wee hours of Wednesday. The robbed person has been identified as Abdul Nazar, 40, of Karippai House. He was attacked while going to Aluva market on his scooter to buy fish. A four-member goonda team had been following him in an autorickshaw all the way from his house.

On the way, the team obstructed him and threw chilli powder into his eyes. According to reports, Abdul was beaten up before they took the money from him. Residents, who had gathered on hearing his screams, took him to a hospital.
