German Consul- General Jorn Rohde called on Chief Minister Oommen Chandy at the Secretariat on Monday. The Chief Minister appreciated the Consul-General for the decision to open two visa application and processing centres in the state next year. The Chief Minister said the decision will be helpful for fostering travel and business relations between the two countries. Jorn Rohde informed the Chief Minister that a significant percentage of Indian students pursuing higher education in Germany was Keralites. He told the Chief Minister that the Bangalore Consulate was extending all necessary support to students, including a career guidance cell. Chandy said that the state is witnessing a steady rise in tourist inflow from Germany.
