Due to security reasons only 30 invitees will be allowed to witness the unveiling of the Swami Vivekananda statue by Vice-President Hamid Ansari at Kowdiar park in the capital city. Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram sources, however, said that all those who would come to attend the august function would be admitted to the Salvation Army Ground where the unveiling ceremony would be telecast live.
The ceremony is scheduled to be held at 4.30pm on September 11. Swami Atmapriyananda, Vice-Chancellor of Vivekananda University, Kolkata of the Ramakrishna Mission, would perform the ‘arathy’ to mark the winding up of the unveiling ceremony.
Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram sources said those who wish to attend the ceremony should enter the Salvation Army Ground before 4pm.
The meeting arranged at the Salvation Army Ground would last for 45 minutes.
The Vice-President would deliver the key note address. Governor Nikhil Kumar, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Rajya Sabha Opposition leader Arun Jaitley, Minister of State for HRD Shashi Tharoor and Swami Atmapriyananda would speak.
Vivekananda Kendram president P Parameswaran would welcome the gathering.
Statue installation committee president and Mayor K Chandrika would propose a vote of thanks.Cultural Affairs Minister K C Joseph, Health and Devaswom Minister V S Sivakumar, K Muraleedharan MLA,Uthradom Thirunal Marthanda Varma, All-India Celebration Committee member and vice-chairman of Mata Amritanandamayi Math Swami Amritaswaroopananda, installation committtee general convener K N Madhusoodhanan Pillai would attend.
After the departure of VVIPs, an hour-long cultural programme would be held. Bhajans by Sreeramakrishna Ashram students would be followed by honouring of important persons who played key roles in the installation of the statue.
Students dressed up as Swami Vivekananda would reenact the Chicago speech of the Swami in Malayalam and English.
Youths dressed up as Swami Vivekananda would also deliver a speech on the topic ‘If Swami Vivekananda Now Arrives in Kerala’.
Swami Atmapriyananda, Swami Amritaswaroopananda and P Parameswaran would speak.
