SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan has lashed out at the state government and KPCC president V M Sudheeran for meddling with the liquor policy in the state.
He was speaking at Cherthala SN College auditorium after being elected the president of the SN Trust for the seventh consecutive term.
While vehemently criticising the government’s liquor policy, Vellappally said the state is witnessing the rule of the KPCC president.
“The liquor policy has been altered shamelessly. They say they will forgo the income from the sale of liquor. Are they ready to close down the retail shops of Kerala Beverages Corporation too for keeping their word,” Vellappally Natesan asked.
The new committee is committed to improving the educational standards of the institutions run by the SN Trust, he said.
Thushar Vellappally, vice-president of SNDP Yogam and son of Vellappally Natesan, was elected as the assistant secretary of the trust.
This is the first time Thushar has become an SN Trust office-bearer.
The panel led by Vellappally was elected to the trust unopposed.
M N Soman is the chairman while B Jayadevan is the treasurer.
A 17-member executive committee was also elected for the SN Trust on the occasion.
