THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government has issued an order ending the mandatory rule of attesting copies of documents by officers and affidavit along with application forms.

With this new order, the applicant can do self-attestation of the documents and the originals need to be submitted only at the final stage.  The mandatory condition for getting affidavits and documents attested by officers had been causing a lot of difficulties to the public.  nder the new rule, except in those documents which require mandatory attestation as per law the rest can be self-attested.

The Central Government had demanded steps to implement the recommendation of Administrative Reforms Commission in this connection.
