Sudheeran Criticises Govt on Bars

Express News Service

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC president V M Sudheeran on Thursday accused the government of trying to use the court to get open the closed 418 bars in the state.

It was sad that the government is trying to gain a favourable verdict from the court to open the bars, he told reporters here.

He said that the opinion that the 418 bars should remain shut was not his private opinion, but the opinion of the party in general and the public. It is only practical wisdom that decisions beneficial to the state and the people are taken, he added.

Sudheeran said that the sub-standard bars that are open should be closed down. The government should not protect the interests of the bar owners, he  said.
