THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan has called upon the government to set up the proposed IIT, at Palakkad itself.
In a statement here, he said during the previous LDF Government’s tenure, all steps were initiated to provide land and other facilities for setting up the IIT at Kanjikode. But the UPA Government did not sanction the IIT for Kerala. He said that it was in the BJP Govt’s budget that the IIT was announced for Kerala. He asked State Govt to take steps to implement the project at Kanjikode near Palakkad immediately.
