KOZHIKODE: Poet and social activist Alankode Leelakrishnan has been selected for the Kambissery Karunakaran Award instituted by Abudabi Yuva Kala Sahithi for this year.
Award committee chairman K E Ismail has said that his outstanding contributions as a cultural activist made him eligible for the award, which comprises a cash award of `15,001 and a citation. An expert panel comprising K E Ismail, P K Gopi, C N Chandran, T V Balan and E M Satheesan selected the winner.
The award will be distributed to him at a function scheduled to be held at Thunchan Parambu on June 17.
