KOCHI: Immigration officials at the Cochin International Airport on Friday arrested two persons for travelling with tampered passports. The arrested persons are Jaylakshmi, wife of Sai Babu, and Dhanraj, both hailing from Andhra Pradesh.

According to officials of the Immigration Wing, the photographs in the passports of the duo were changed. “The address given in the passports was of different persons but the photographs were correct. We suspect that the photographs of the original passport holders had been removed so that they can land in India using fake identity,” officials of the Immigration Wing said. The duo were handed over to Nedumbassery police and a case has been registered under the Passport Act.
