State Film Award Ceremony on Friday

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state film award ceremony will be held at Kanakakkunnu Palace here on Friday. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will present the film awards along with the J C Daniel Award, said Minister of Cinema Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan while addressing the media here on Monday.

“The government has decided to organise a simple function for the state award ceremony. This is a proud event for the state and so will be conducted in such a manner,” said the Minister.

He added that the government has decided to implement the suggestions in the report submitted by the Adoor Gopalakrishnan committee.

A decision to increase the award money will be taken after further discussions, he said.

Health Minister V S Sivakumar, K Muraleedharan MLA, Mayor K Chandrika,  award jury chairman director P Bharathiraja, Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University Vice-Chancellor K Jayakumar, State Institute of Languages director M R Thampan  and Kerala State Chalachithra Academy (KSCA) chairman T Rajeev Nath will attend the award function.
