KSRTC Collects New Cess

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:KSRTC passengers had to shell out extra for tickets priced above Rs 15 as the state-run transport utility began charging ‘social security cess’ ranging from Rs one to Rs 10 from Wednesday onwards. 

The cess will be Rs one on the ticket slab between Rs 15 and Rs 24;  Rs two between Rs. 25 and Rs. 49; Rs three between Rs 50 and Rs 74, and Rs four between Rs 75 and Rs 99. 

For tickets priced more than Rs 100, a flat rate of Rs 10 will be levied. This will apply to all buses, including KURTC buses under the JNNURM scheme.
