Hatred Deadlier than Any Virus Mata Amritanandamayi

Express News Service

KOCHI:  Exhorting every one to shed hatred, Mata Amritanandamayi, termed it deadlier than any virus.

Addressing devotees at the Brahmastanam Maholsavam that began on Wednesday at Kunnumpuram here, Mata drew a parallel between Ebola epidemic and hatred. “Ebola virus that spread over Africa has become a nightmare for the whole world. It has wiped out thousands of humans. But the virus of hatred is killing more than any epidemic,” Mata Amritanandamayi said. The antidote for hatred is within us - love and kindness, she added.

“Man is said to be blamed for the occurence of natural calamities. And it is a warning to us for making corrections. Conservation of nature is one of the most important issue to be taken care of. We should imbibe the spirit of conservation and the values of natural co-existence of ancient tribal people,” she added. One of the major contributions of India to the world is zero. We should add some thing more with zero; zero poverty, zero waste, zero illiteracy and zero crime and be a model to the whole world, Mata Amritanandamayi suggested.

Earlier, Mata Amritanandamayi was welcomed at the venue by Kochi Mayor Tony Chammany, Hibi Eden MLA, Justice Padmanabhan Nair, Justice P R Raman, A N Radhakrishnan and Maradu municipal chairman Devarajan.

The Brahmastanam Maholsavam will come to a close on Thursday.
