Rs 76 Lakh, 2 Kg of Gold Seized

PALAKKAD:The Excise authorities confiscated `76 lakh in cash and two kilograms of gold from a person who was travelling in a KSRTC bus during routine checks on Tuesday midnight at Walayar.

The cash  reportedly intended for hawala transactions and gold were kept in a bag. The inspection was conducted at Pampampallam near the toll booth. The Excise officials said that a person who is suspected to be the owner of the bag alighted from the bus and ran away.
