Old Malayalam Films to be Digitised

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:KSFDC chairman Rajmohan Unnithan has said that KSFDC will preserve over 4,000-odd old Malayalam films in Digital format.

Inaugurating the 50th anniversary of the celebrated film ‘Odayilninnu’ directed by K S Sethmadhavan based on P Kesavdev’s novel by the same name under the aegis of P Kesavdev Trust here on Saturday,  he said that he along with some of the film producers would be visiting Chennai on July 7 and would try to collect the prints of old films now lying dumped in various film studios there. These prints will be digitalised and kept at Chithranjalai here as a treasure trove for the posterity, he said, adding that Rs 1 crore has been allotted for this project. 

 Veteran filmmaker K S Sethumadhavan shared the platform with noted  actor Suresh Gopi who, incidentally, played the role of a boy in the film.
