Python Found at Bathing Ghat

KOTTAYAM:  A python sighted near a bathing ghat in Meenachil river near Parampuzha created tension and awe among locals for a while on Friday.

The python was spotted at Kottupallikkadavu near Moscow junction at around 11.45 am.

According to local resident K K Biju, the python was trapped in an abandoned fishing net, which was tangled on the protection wall of the river near the bathing ghat.

Local residents led by Biju soon informed Forest officials at the Special Investigation and Protection Unit (Forest) at Parampuzha.

Based on directions from the Forest officials, they took the six-ft long python, weighing 12 kg, to the Forest office, and handed it over to the officials.
