MVD to Rein in 'Rogue' Pvt Bus Crew

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:Transport Commissioner R Sreelekha has instructed the Kerala Motor Vehicle Department officials to conduct stringent inspection centered around streets and bus stands across the state to check inappropriate behaviour of private bus employees toward students. Sreelekha was acting on the order issued by the Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights based on media reports of an incident that took place in the Ernakulam district where an underage girl student and her brother was subjected to unruly behaviour from a private bus employee.

The Ernakulam Regional Transport Office has also informed the commission that an awareness campaign will be run among the private bus owners and employees.
