Kalyan Adds Brand New Luxury Plane to its Fleet

KOCHI : Kalyan Jewellers, one of the largest jewellery manufacturers and distributors in the country, added a brand new luxury aircraft, the Embraer Legacy 650, to its existing fleet.

The aircraft which landed at Cochin International Airport to a traditional water salute from the CIAL Rescue Fire Fighters on Wednesday is the largest aircraft owned by a Kerala-based business entity.

The Rs 200-crore aircraft can fly non-stop for eight hours at a speed of 834 km per/hour. 

The Legacy 650 aircraft is part of the company’s aggressive global expansion plans-to enable senior management with the flexibility, agility and convenience to meet the demands of the business, said T S Kalyanaraman, Chairman & Managing Director of Kalyan Jewellers, adding that “this long-term investment will ensure that we save time while reducing the dependence on commercial airlines.”
