SBT Installs 30KWp Solar Power Plant at HO

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  A 30KWp solar power plant has been installed at the head office of State Bank of Travancore (SBT) at Poojappura in the capital. Jeevandas Narayan, Managing Director, SBT, inaugurated the power plant. It is expected to reduce 67 per cent of the electricity bill of the Staff Training Centre of the bank by generation of 120 units of non-conventional energy per day.

The plant with the largest capacity installed by any bank in Kerala is the first project completed under the ‘Solar Connect’ programme of ANERT.

The expenditure of `23 lakh, with a subsidy of `9.63 lakh, is expected to be recovered within four years. The implementation of the eco-friendly project under Green Banking Policy was done by Swelect Energy Systems, Chennai. The project also enables an annual carbon dioxide reduction of up to 21.6 tonne.
