Guidelines on Vehicle Registration

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  The Transport Commissionerate has issued guidelines for making temporary registration for vehicles through dealers. A temporary registration is must for newly registered vehicles and the application should be submitted only online. Fees, tax, cess should be submitted along with the application.

Mobile number and email address of vehicle buyer should be mentioned, said Transport Commissioner, Tomin J Thachankary, in a circular issued on Friday.

 In the online application, signature, photo and address proof should be uploaded.

The circular mentioned that that the person entering the details of the dealer, the one who verifies the entered data and the official who confirms it  should not be a single official. If the owner has taken a hypothecation, then the details should be mentioned in the application.

If there are changes in the application submitted, they should be done within 24 hours.
