KANNUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the 57th state school arts festival on January 16 here. Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala will attend the valedictory function. Releasing the programme notice of the festival at the Shikshak Sadan, Additional Director of Public Education Jesi Joseph handed over the event chart to Press Club president K T Sasi.

The programme will be conducted at 20 venues and would be named after the rivers of Kerala.
This is to emphasise the need to protect water bodies, besides creating awarness on climate change.The venues would be within 2 km radius in the town and the main venue would come up at the Police Ground.
