CHENNAI: Oil major Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) said on Thursday that all its fuel outlets in Kerala have moved to 100 per cent cashless payment mode.

In a statement issued here, the IOC said the company is the first in the oil industry to accept cashless payments at all its fuel outlets that includes payments by debit/credit cards, e-Wallet or unified payment interface (UPI).

The company said its Irumpanam terminal in Kochi ensures 100 per cent payment of toll charges through cashless mode by fixing RFID tags on all its tank trucks.

All payments by the terminal are by electronic mode, IOC said.

Payment of toll charges through RFID tag at IOC's Feroke Depot at Calicut has been done for 80 per cent of its tank trucks. The balance is expected to be completed by January 2, 2017, the statement added.
