Express News Service

CHENGANNUR:Nagaland Chief Minister T R Zeliang said peace in the state or nation is the basic factor of development. Speaking to ‘Express’ at Pampa Theeram Ayurveda hospital here on Sunday, he spoke about the difference in development between Kerala and Nagaland.

He arrived at the hospital for undergoing Ayurvedic treatment for a back pain that occurred when he was playing ball-badminton.

On the Kerala model of development, he said Kerala was richer than Nagaland.

“The main problem faced by Nagaland is the lack of peace. The resources of the state, including man power, is being spent for preventing people from terrorism. The government had held discussions with terror groups for ceasing their activities. 8 groups signed with the government to stop their activities against the government. But one group remains to sign the agreement with the government for peace,” the Chief Minister said.

He added that no investor was willing to invest in an unquiet state.

“The Kerala model of Development is good. Its natural beauty is a big asset. At present I feel the effect of Ayurveda and nature of Kerala. I arrived here with the support of a walking stick, but now, I can walk without it. It is the result of Ayurveda. Therefore I have planned to start Ayurvedic courses at the University level in Nagaland.Dr Sreedevi and Dr Sreeveni, doctors at the hospital, said the treatments lasted only two days.
