IUML worker hacked to death in Puthalath in Kerala, accused absconding

KOZHIKODE: An IUML worker was hacked to death allegedly by an SDPI worker at Puthalath in Velam panchayat under the Kuttiadi police limit on Friday night. The victim was identified as K P Nazeer, Kizhakke Puthalath house, Kuttiadi.

According to police sources, the incident occurred around 8.30 p.m. Though it could not be conformed yet whether the murder was politically motivated or not, one Basheer, an SDPI worker was identified as the main accused in the case.

Following the incident, tension prevailed in Kuttiadi-Nadapuram region. A large number of police were camping in the region to quell any further escalation of the tense situation.
