K Babu's Plea Placed Before Division Bench

KOCHI:  A Single Judge of the Kerala High Court on Thursday placed before the Division Bench, headed by the Chief Justice, the petition filed by Minister K Babu challenging the vigilance court order in the bar bribe case  to decide whether it has to be considered along with petitions seeking a CBI probe into the case.

Justice P Ubaid issued the order while considering the plea seeking to refer the case to a Division Bench. Babu submitted that there are petitions pending  before the Bench headed by the Chief Justice seeking a CBI probe. Hence, this case also be heard by the same Bench. Babu also submitted that a quick verification report was also filed by the Vigilance.

Counsel for Biju Ramesh and George Vattukulam opposed the plea.
