Veteran Kerala CPM leader K Anirudhan cremated at Thiruvananthapuram

Veteran CPM leader and former MP and legislator K Anirudhan’s body was cremated with full state honours.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Veteran CPM leader and former MP and legislator K Anirudhan’s body was cremated with full state honours in the capital on Monday.Anirudhan,92, died at the residence of his son A Sampath MP’s residence here at 11.30 pm on Sunday. He had been taking rest for some years owing to age-related ailments.

Anirudhan had a prominent role in building the Communist party in the capital. He was the party’s state committee member from 1964 to 1967 and had also served as a member of the CPM district secretariat and committee, CITU district president and state vice-president.The body was cremated at Santhikavadam with full state honours at 5 pm.
