'K Babu did not have any stake in Renai Medicity': Krishnadas Polakulathu

KOCHI: Krishnadas Polakulathu, managing director of Renai Medicity, claimed that the FIR registered against former Excise Minister K Babu by Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) did not mention that the latter had any stake in Renai Medicity. According to him, the construction work of Renai Medicity commenced in 2005 and was completed in 2011. “K Babu was not holding any minister post during this term. He did not have any partnership in any business project under Polakulath Group,” he said.

Krishnadas said only he and his brothers have stake in Medicity and the allegation connecting Babu with the business group was baseless.In the FIR registered by Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau in the case registered for illegal amassment of wealth by K Babu, it states that there were allegations against K Babu including partnership in Polakkulam Renai Medi City, Palarivattom. Since only confidential inquiry was conducted, details regarding this could not be collected.
