KOCHI: The Kerala CBSE School Management Association submitted a memorandum to Union Minister for Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar, highlighting the problems faced by CBSE institutions in the State.

Association general secretary Indira Rajan, who met the Minister here the other day, brought to his attention the issues that require immediate attention.

The CBSE schools are under pressure from the various taxes imposed by the government and scrutiny by ‘unauthorised’ agencies. The detailed memorandum stated it was imperative to enhance the quality of training provided to CBSE teachers across the country. It also called for uniformity in the training methodology and a uniform textbook pattern to ensure quality training. Setting up a training academy in Ernakulam before the next academic session will benefit the CBSE institutions in Kerala,” stated the memorandum.

It also demanded steps to initiate NCC, SPC and Scout & Guides activities in CBSE schools, and stressed the need to institute a national-level art festival (Kalolsav). “It will create a forum of youths having the required talent to compete at the national level,” it was stated.
