THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM veteran and administrative reforms commission chairman V S Achuthanandan on Monday said the Supreme Court verdict in the TP Senkumar issue should be implemented. "The verdict by the Supreme Court should be implemented. Isn't it the Supreme Court?" he asked.

The former chief minister has been taking different stands than that of his party and the Pinarayi Vijayan government.

The CPM veteran recently came out openly against the government on a number of issues, including the alleged Maoist killing and the Munnar encroachment.

Achuthanandan has been demanding a major course correction from the CPM central leadership, and sent them a detailed note prior to the recently concluded CPM politburo and central committee meeting.

In an apparent move against chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the State police, Achuthanandan demanded that there be a party mechanism to monitor the government’s political and administrative decisions.
