KANNUR: The Kelakam police on Sunday registered a case against Jobin Pandamcheri, a Youth Congress activist, for an alleged objectionable post against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on a social networking site. The case was registered based on a complaint filed by a CPM activist.

Officers said the accused posted a fake photo of Pinarayi wearing a bishop’s attire.

“We have registered a case for defaming the Chief Minister and inciting religious sentiments,” police said.  Jobin later deleted the post.
