KOZHIKODE: The PCB has withdrawn the sanction for PVR Water Theme Park, owned by Nilambur MLA P V Anwar, at Kakkadampoyil in the district. The PCB decided to withdraw its consent after it found the park has failed to follow the conditions laid out by the PCB on waste management. PCB assistant engineer Jolsana Jerin said the park had submitted an affidavit saying it will set up waste management facilities on the park premises within a month. However, the PCB officers did not visit the park before giving sanction. Later, the PCB conducted an inspection on the premises and found the park did not construct water treatment plant and sock pit for safe disposal of canteen waste.

The PCB had served a show cause notice on the park and park had filed a reply. “But, the reply is not satisfactory. So we have cancelled the consent given to the park in the first week of August,” she said. The construction of park had hit the headlines as allegations of irregularities in construction.
