Security measures at Sabarimala tightened 

 Tight security measures have been imposed at Lord Ayyappa temple here to prevent any untoward incident without causing hardships to pilgrims.

SABARIMALA: Tight security measures have been imposed at Lord Ayyappa temple here to prevent any untoward incident without causing hardships to pilgrims. As part of tightening the security measures, two companies of armed police personnel have been deployed and an additional number of 100 commandos have been pressed into service at the Sannidhanam and other sensitive areas.

In addition to the state police personnel on duty, Central paramilitary personnel, including Rapid Action Force, National Disaster Response Force, and police personnel from the states of  Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Puduchery and Tamil Nadu, are keeping vigil at the Sannidhanam and nearby areas.
An additional number of metal detectors have been installed at sensitive locations at Sannidhanam, Pandithavalam and Pampa as part of fool-proof security measures.
