THRISSUR: In a turning point in the probe into the suicide of Nehru College student Jishnu Pranoy, the investigating team on Thursday found blood stains in the office of T K Saktivel, the vice-principal of the college in Pampady.

However, superintendent of police N Vijyakumar, who is monitoring the investigation, said it was not confirmed whether the stains were from Jishnu Pranoy’s blood. He added that the blood samples would be sent for forensic examination.

Jishnu's relatives and students of the college allege that Jishnu was accused by the college administrators of cheating in the exam, and was physical tortured by a group led by vice-principal Sakthivel and PRO Sanjith Viswanathan in the vice-principal’s room.

The investigation team also found blood stains in the bathroom in the hostel where Jishnu was found hanging on January 6.
