KOZHIKODE: The family of Jishnu Pranoy, who allegedly committed suicide at the Nehru Engineering College in Pampadi, lashed out at Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday.

During a press conference at their house in Nadapuram, Jishnu’s mother Mahija asked Pinarayi to not visit their house till all the accused in the case are arrested. She alleged there was a conspiracy to delay the arrests and sabotage the investigation. “Even 50 days after the death of my son, the investigation team has failed to arrest the accused. Though there is solid evidence of college chairman P Krishnadas’s involvement in the crime, the police could not arrest him. This is part of a conspiracy to save the culprits,” she said.

On Pinarayi’s recent statement he would visit Jishnu’s house in solidarity with the family, Mahija said, “The Chief Minister should not visit my house before the police arrest all the accused.” Mahija said her family plans to launch an indefinite hunger strike in front of the Secretariat if the team does not arrest all the accused before February 28.

Complaint on FB

Earlier too Mahija has slammed the Chief Minister. In a Facebook post, she proclaimed he was maintaining silence on the death of her son. Mahija complained the Chief Minister had not visited to her house when he visited Kozhikode and Kannur.
