KANNUR: BJP former state president C K Padmanabhan came out against the controversial statements made by the party general secretary A N Radhakrishnan against filmmaker Kamal and revolutionary leader Che Guevara.

“None can doubt the patriotism of Kamal. He has made immense contributions to the film industry. I don’t know whether Kamal had said the National Anthem should not be sung,” Padmanabhan said. He also said none has the right to ask a citizen to leave the country.

Commenting on the row over usage of portraits of Che Guevara by the DYFI,  he said those who do not know about the revolutionary leader must read The Bolivian Diary. Meanwhile, Padmanabhan rebutted the rumours of him joining the CPM. “I will stay put in the BJP,”he said.
