THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Six days after BJP leader V Muraleedharan beginning an indefinite strike seeking the removal of Lakshmi Nair as the principal of the Kerala Law Academy, former KPCC president K Muraleedharan, on Monday, said he too would go on an indefinite hunger strike from February 2 if the issue was not sorted out within two days.

''I am waiting for the cabinet meeting scheduled for Wednesday. If the government fails to come up with a solution, I would be launching an indefinite hunger strike,'' he told Express.

Noting that the demand of the agitating students was reasonable, Muraleedharan who is also the local MLA said Lakshmi Nair should be removed from the position. He also said that the ten acres of land that is in the illegal possession of the academy should be retrieved and used for other development works.

''As an MLA of the constituency where the Academy is located, I cannot stand aloof from the issue,'' he said.
