KOCHI: The judicial remand of Pulsar Suni aka Sunil Kumar, the first accused in the abduction and sexual assault case of a Malayalam actress has been extended to August 3 by the Angamaly Judicial First Class Magistrate Court on Tuesday.

Suni was produced before the court since his judicial custody was slated to end on Tuesday. The court adjourned hearing of the petition moved by the accused seeking bail to Thursday.

Police also registered a fresh case against Pulsar Suni on Monday based on the complaint by producer Johny Sagarika.

According to the police officers, when an actress came to Kochi for the shooting of a movie, a vehicle driven by Suni came to pick her. However, Suni changed the route instead of taking her to the shooting location. When she informed the matter to her husband Suni panicked and dropped her off at the hotel and fled.

Meanwhile, the Ernakulam central police arrested a youth in the case pertaining to the alleged attempt to abduct another actress in 2011.

Officers said, Ebin, hailing from Kothamangalam, who was an aide of Suni, has been arrested. He was working as cleaner of the vehicle during the time of the incident and had accompanied Suni on the day.
